I have enjoyed reading for my whole life. I remember as a girl, reading 'Little Women' over and over again. A few years back, a few school friends and I  formed a book club, where we would meet at a cafe once a month to discuss the month's book (from a wide range of genres) and enjoy coffee, cake . . . and more cake! One month the book of choice was Fifty Shades Of Grey, and from there on, I discovered I loved reading anything in this genre, be it contemporary romance, NA, YA, or erotica, I was reading it, and loving it.

Girls at work read FSOG about the same time as I did, and we pretty much discussed books all day every day from then on (ssh, don't tell my boss!). Two of those girls and I decided we should start a blog to share the books we love with other readers, and from there A.K.A The Book Harlots Review was born ( the A.K.A is for our initials Amanda, Kell and Alicia). As our blog grew, I have met some amazing fans and authors that are now our good friends, some of which are coming to the Sydney Author Event, and I am so excited to meet.

There are so many things I am looking forward to about our event. We have so many incredible authors attending that I will be fan girling over with you all, (you may not get me away from Jenn Sterling's, Cassia Leo's and Elle Casey's table, so, if you see me there, tell me to go do some work!) Getting to see my Aussie author girls, Rachel Brookes, Megan Keith, Carmen Jenner and TJ Hamilton, who I met in March, and I now consider them to my very good friends, will be  a major highlight. I  can't wait to hang out with my 'happy' girls from our Gold Coast weekend (you all know who you are), I know we are going to have so much fun at the after party, that Sydney Harbour might never be the same again!

Last but definitely not least, the amazing women that are organising the Sydney Author Event. Ryn, Tash, Natasha, and Kristine, you girls will be in my life forever, our constant fb chats keep me laughing every day, and I think we keep each other sane, especially as it gets closer to November, your friendship means more to me than you'll ever know!

See You In Sydney!

A.K.A. The Book Harlots Review

I have always had a love of imaginary and different worlds, places where you can get lost within someone else's stories, to travel on so many journeys and feel all kinds of emotions. When I was little I'd worry my mother by questioning strangers, asking where they had been in life and what had they seen, then I would write stories detailing the places I wished to one day visit, those stories somehow always ended with me being a magical princess. Once I hit high school I had some brilliant English teachers who introduced their classes to some amazing books which was what really started my passion for reading. I had never really read much in the romance genre but when Twilight and then Fifty Shades of Grey came out I had to see what all the fuss was, whilst I did enjoy them it was Beautiful Disaster that really got me hooked on YA, NA and contemporary romance. Soon I was going to work and talking to the amazing people that I worked with about which new book boyfriends had stolen our hearts, *coughs* all in our lunch breaks of course *clears throat*. The people that I talked to most though were Kellie and Alicia, and one day we decided to create A.K.A the Book Harlots Review to tell more people all about the books we enjoyed most. I'm so looking forward to meeting all the amazing authors attending the Sydney Author Event, as well as getting to know fellow readers who share the same love of books.
Hope to see you there,

<3 Amanda
